Planning a theme-week stay

Choose the dates first. Build the itinerary second.

Major event dates are often confirmed before the complete schedule. You can secure the broad shape of the trip without pretending every venue and time is already settled.

Match the week to your reason for traveling

Some weekends lean toward nightlife, while others combine performances, workshops, literary programs, sports and daytime community events.

Check lodging and transportation together

Fall ferry frequency and seasonal service can change. Confirm the trip in both directions before buying nonrefundable tickets.

Leave room for schedule changes

Use early programs to understand the week, then confirm official event pages as organizers finalize venues, tickets and start times.

Why location matters
