The short version

What is New England Leather Weekend?

New England Leather Weekend is a Provincetown gathering for New England's LGBTQ+ leather community, built around the annual Mr./Ms./Mx. New England Leather title contest. The organizer says the 2026 weekend is its 13th year and the third year of the fully gender-inclusive contest.

The organization describes its mission as preserving and promoting the history and future of New England's leather community while creating a welcoming, supportive space for queer leather people of all gender identities and expressions.

The November 2026 contest selects the New England Leather 2027 titleholder. That year label can be confusing when you first see it: the contest happens in 2026, but the winner represents the community during the 2027 title year and is expected to compete at International Mr. Leather or International Ms. Leather.

The current titleholder is Eric the Red, New England Leather 2026. The organizer currently says applications for the 2027 title have reached their maximum and additional applications are being waitlisted.

Event purpose and current title information come from New England Leather. Contest application status was checked September 20, 2026.

Two leather weekends, two different events

New England Leather Weekend is not Mates Leather Weekend

Mates Leather Weekend and New England Leather Weekend are separate Provincetown events. Mates runs October 1–5, 2026. New England Leather Weekend runs November 20–22 and centers on the regional New England Leather title contest.

This distinction matters for search results and trip planning because the names can easily blur together. If you are looking for the October event, use our Mates Leather Weekend guide. If you are coming for the Mr./Ms./Mx. New England Leather contest and its surrounding weekend, this is the November event you want.

The November event also describes itself specifically as fully gender-inclusive. Mates has its own organizer, program and identity.

Saturday, November 21

The New England Leather 2027 Contest

The 2026 contest is scheduled for Saturday, November 21 at The Paramount Club at The Crown & Anchor, 247 Commercial Street. Provincetown Tourism lists doors at 8:00 p.m. and the show at 9:00 p.m.

The contest selects the person who will carry the New England Leather 2027 title. The organizer's rules say contestants must be at least 21, live in a New England state, and may be of any gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, creed or physical ability, subject to being able to perform the titleholder duties.

The published judging framework includes an interview, leather image, an on-stage question, hot wear and a speech, although the organizer notes that judged categories are subject to change. The final 2027 contest details should come from New England Leather once its complete program is released.

The titleholder is expected to represent New England's leather community during the following year, including community events and a major international leather contest.

The contest venue is right in the center of town

The Crown & Anchor is at 247 Commercial Street. Ptown Perch is at 220 Commercial Street, so both are on the same central stretch of Commercial. The Victory Celebration is also listed at The Vault inside Crown & Anchor, which keeps Saturday night's confirmed events in one location.

The organizer says it clearly

Who is New England Leather Weekend for?

New England Leather's homepage leads with “we welcome all!” and describes the weekend as a welcoming space for queer leather people of all gender identities and expressions.

That makes it different from treating the weekend as an event for only one gender or one slice of the leather community. The contest's shift to a fully gender-inclusive title is now in its third year.

Specific parties and nightlife venues may set their own admission or age policies, so check the individual event listing before you go.

A late-November weekend with more going on

What else is open in Provincetown that weekend?

New England Leather Weekend lands just as Provincetown starts leaning into the holiday season. That gives you a few confirmed things to build around outside the leather schedule.

Beginning November 20

The Canteen Holiday Market

Tourism lists the market beginning November 20 and describes it as weekend-focused, with local vendors plus The Canteen's seasonal food and drink setup at 225 Commercial Street.

November 19–December 6

Provincetown Theater

The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life runs during Leather Weekend, with the Theater listing Thursday through Saturday performances at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

For restaurants, markets, art and other late-November plans, use our What's Open in Provincetown in November guide. It is built from businesses and institutions that actually publish year-round or November schedules, rather than a summer list with the word “November” added to it.

One important cutoff happens five days earlier

Getting to Provincetown for New England Leather Weekend

There is no regular fast ferry that weekend

Bay State Cruise Company's published late-fall fast-ferry season ends November 15, 2026. New England Leather Weekend begins November 20, so do not plan a Boston ferry for this trip.

Cape Air winter flights are running

Provincetown Tourism lists winter Cape Air service from November 4, 2026 through May 12, 2027. Boston-to-Provincetown flights are currently scheduled at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Provincetown-to-Boston flights are listed at 7:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

That makes a Thursday or Friday arrival with a Sunday departure worth checking. Confirm the exact flight and weather-sensitive operation with Cape Air.

Bus service

Peter Pan serves Provincetown at Ryder Street. Search your exact arrival and departure dates together before booking the stay.

Parking is outside the Town's paid season

Provincetown's 2026 paid-parking enforcement ends November 2. New England Leather Weekend is well after that date. Ptown Perch has no dedicated parking, and we usually recommend Grace Hall at Prince and Bradford Streets, about 0.1 mile from the apartment.

The Town lists Grace Hall as open 24 hours. Follow posted signs and current Town notices because off-season does not remove every parking restriction.

Google Maps estimates about a three-minute walk between Grace Hall and 220 Commercial Street. Open the walking route.

Stay near the confirmed Saturday action

Where to stay for New England Leather Weekend

The organizer currently lists Crown & Anchor, Gifford House, Crews Quarters and Admiral's Landing as attendee accommodations. Its accommodations page says guests can call those hotels directly, mention New England Leather and avoid their usual three-night minimum requirement.

That is useful information if you prefer a hotel or want to stay directly inside one of the weekend's official lodging partners.

Ptown Perch

Ptown Perch is our entire one-bedroom condo at 220 Commercial Street. The confirmed Saturday contest is at Crown & Anchor, 247 Commercial Street, so the apartment and the main confirmed venue are on the same central stretch of Commercial.
