The honest version
Is Provincetown open in November?
Yes. Provincetown is open in November, but it does not operate on a summer schedule. The best trips are built around businesses that explicitly operate year-round, confirmed November exhibitions or performances, and outdoor plans that do not depend on seasonal services.
A restaurant can be year-round and still close on a particular weekday. A gallery can be open for a November show and then go dark between exhibitions. Thanksgiving is its own category. We would rather give you a shorter list that is useful than a huge list copied from summer.
For a month-wide event calendar, weather, travel and lodging planning, use our Provincetown in November 2026 guide. This page has one job: answering the question, “What can I actually count on being open?”
Places we can substantiate
Restaurants open in Provincetown in November
These are not guesses based on last winter. Each place below either describes itself as year-round on its own current site or currently publishes operating hours and appears in the Chamber's winter dining guide.
| Place | What is confirmed | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The Canteen | Open year-round at 225 Commercial Street, directly across from Ptown Perch. | Published hours vary by day. Holiday Market hours are separate from restaurant hours. |
| Fanizzi's | Open daily, year-round for lunch, Early Bird and dinner. | Fanizzi's specifically lists Thanksgiving Day as closed. |
| Mac's Fish House | Open year-round. Current published hours are 3–9 p.m. weekdays and noon–9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. | Recheck the day you plan to go, especially around Thanksgiving. |
| Far Land Provisions | Its own site says breakfast and lunch are served year-round at 150 Bradford Street. | Daily deli and bakery selections change. |
| Liz's Cafe, Anybody's Bar | Its current menu page says it is open year-round for breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. | Check the current meal-service hours before choosing a time. |
| Tin Pan Alley | Current site posts lunch 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m., dinner 5–9 p.m. and bar service to 11:30 p.m.; the Chamber includes it in the winter dining guide. | Confirm the date-specific entertainment lineup and any holiday change. |
Restaurant information checked from the businesses' own websites and the Provincetown Chamber winter dining guide. Seasonal schedules can change after publication.

Useful when you do not want another reservation
Food markets and easy meals
Year-round market
Angel Foods
Angel Foods says it stays open year-round and currently lists winter hours of 8 a.m.–5 p.m. It is useful for groceries, prepared food and sandwiches in the East End.
Breakfast & lunch
Far Land Provisions
Breakfast, sandwiches, soups, baked goods and prepared foods continue year-round. It is one of the easiest places to build a picnic, beach lunch or simple meal at the apartment.
Seafood market
Mac's Seafood Market
The market next to Mac's Fish House is currently open Sunday through Thursday until 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until 7 p.m., according to Mac's current site.
If you are staying somewhere with a kitchen, November is a good month to actually use it. You can have one dinner out that you plan around and keep another night flexible with prepared food or groceries.
Reliable indoor plans
Museums and the Provincetown Public Library
Provincetown Art Association and Museum
PAAM currently lists daily hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on Fridays. It is closed on Thanksgiving Day. The Fred Garbers exhibition is scheduled through November 29, 2026, while From the Pier runs through November 1.
PAAM is at 460 Commercial Street, so it works naturally with an East End walk rather than as a separate drive.
Provincetown Public Library
The Library describes itself as a year-round destination and currently lists public hours seven days a week: Monday 10–5, Tuesday through Thursday 10–8, Friday and Saturday 10–5, and Sunday 1–5.
Even if you are not usually a library-on-vacation person, go upstairs to see the half-scale model of the Rose Dorothea, the Provincetown fishing schooner that won the 1907 Lipton Cup. It fills the building in a way that is hard to explain until you are standing next to it.
A surprisingly strong November arts calendar
Galleries and exhibitions open in November
The Provincetown Commons
The Commons is open year-round, seven days a week, and its 2026 calendar gives November visitors something concrete to see rather than hoping a gallery happens to be open.
| Dates | Exhibition | Published gallery hours |
|---|---|---|
| Oct. 28–Nov. 8 | Save You a Seat, Alex Stadler and Outwash | Weekdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; weekends 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on the event listings. |
| Nov. 11–22 | Figure and Ground, Queer Love, and Crafting Memories | Weekdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; weekends 10 a.m.–2 p.m. |
| Nov. 25–Dec. 6 | The Art of Becoming | Weekdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; weekends 10 a.m.–2 p.m. |
The Commons also lists Making Light, a conversation about sustaining creativity, courage and connection, for Tuesday, November 17 at 6 p.m.
Commercial galleries
Some commercial galleries continue into November, but schedules are much less uniform than in summer. Rather than claim a gallery is open every November day, use the Chamber's winter guide and the gallery's own site or social feed for that day's hours.
A real late-November evening plan
Provincetown Theater has a confirmed November run
The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life runs November 19 through December 6, 2026. Provincetown Theater lists performances Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
That makes the Theater one of the strongest confirmed evening plans for the second half of November, including New England Leather Weekend and Thanksgiving weekend dates that match the published performance pattern.
Use the Provincetown Theater 2026 season page for live ticket inventory. The Theater is at 238 Bradford Street, just under a mile from the center of town by its own visitor information.
Fewer doors, still plenty to browse
Shopping in Provincetown in November
Retail is the category where we would be most careful about assuming summer hours. There are year-round shops, but November schedules can compress to weekends or a few days each week.
Winter weekends
Womencrafts
Womencrafts publishes winter hours of Saturday and Sunday, often Fridays as well. The shop at 376 Commercial Street carries books, art, jewelry and work by women and trans artists.
Year-round with seasonal hours
Cabot's Candy
Cabot's says its Provincetown store operates year-round, but specifically warns that hours change with the seasons. Call or check before making a special trip.
The Chamber's winter shopping guide also points visitors toward places such as Marine Specialties and other year-round or winter businesses. We would still check the individual shop's hours that morning.
Late November gets easier for shopping. The Business Guild lists Pink Friday on November 27, and both the Business Guild and Tourism list The Canteen Holiday Market beginning later in November. Our Thanksgiving guide has the confirmed holiday-weekend details.
The landscape does not close for the season
Outdoor things that still work in November
Cape Cod National Seashore
The National Park Service says Cape Cod National Seashore is open year-round. Herring Cove, Race Point, Beech Forest and the Province Lands landscape can still be part of a November trip, subject to weather, current conditions and any temporary closures.
The Province Lands Visitor Center itself is seasonally closed by November. NPS says its outdoor observation decks are open year-round when weather permits, while many restrooms and visitor services elsewhere in the park are seasonal. Check current park conditions before heading out.
Art's Dune Tours, through November 15
Art's Dune Tours states that its regular season runs seven days a week through November 15. The company lists daily departures but notes that fall afternoon times can shift, so confirm your exact departure before planning the rest of the day.
Useful exclusions
What should you not count on in November?
A good off-season guide should tell you what has ended too.
- Regular whale watches: Dolphin Fleet publishes an April through October operating season, so do not build a November day around a standard whale watch.
- Province Lands Visitor Center: the building closes seasonally from mid-October to mid-May, even though the National Seashore itself remains open.
- Summer beach shuttle: the Town describes the Provincetown shuttle as seasonal from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. November beach trips need another transportation plan.
- Summer-style daily retail hours: some shops move to weekends or reduced schedules. Confirm before crossing town for one store.
Thanksgiving Day needs its own plan. PAAM and Fanizzi's explicitly list Thanksgiving closures, and CCRTA has no service on November 26. The next day is much livelier, with Pink Friday and the holiday weekend underway.
Why location matters more off-season
Stay close to the places that remain active
November is when we most appreciate being able to walk out the door without turning every meal or gallery into a transportation project. Ptown Perch is at 220 Commercial Street, directly across from The Canteen and within walking distance of the Library, Town Hall, The Commons and much of the center.
- California king bedroom plus a queen sleeper sofa, for up to four registered guests.
- Full kitchen and dining table for nights when staying in sounds better.
- Heat, fast Wi-Fi, standing desk and in-unit laundry.
- Private garden behind the apartment, with Commercial Street out front.
The apartment is reached by an exterior staircase and is not step-free. Some Commercial Street activity may be audible indoors, and we provide white-noise machines. Take a look inside before choosing your dates.
Availability changes. We keep live dates, current minimum stays, pricing and cancellation terms on Airbnb rather than hard-coding them into this guide.

How we checked this page
We used current first-party business sites whenever they explicitly publish year-round status, November exhibition dates, winter hours or holiday closures. We also used the Provincetown Chamber winter guide, Provincetown Business Guild, National Park Service and current event calendars.
We intentionally left out businesses that may well be open but did not have enough current information to support a November claim. If a business changes its schedule after September 19, its own site or social account should always win.
